2026 TNR FUELS RULES

For the 2026 TNR Fuels race season, we are introducing crucial new and updated class rules. These rules are not just a formality, but a cornerstone of our commitment to ensuring a fair and just competition for all participants.

We understand that these rules may cause some disappointment or frustration. However, it's important to remember that these rules are not arbitrary. They are designed with a clear purpose: to create a fair and competitive racing environment. These rules ensure that racers compete in classes that match their skill level, thereby enhancing the overall racing experience.

Sportsman Class Rules:

  • A racer is eligible to enter the Sportsman class ONLY if they have 0% chassis sponsorship.
  • If you are a sportsman class driver and any of your qualifying times are in the top five of the Expert class, you must move into the Expert class for the event and any future events.

Expert (Also known as Intermediate) Class Rules:

  • If you have a 1% to 99% chassis sponsorship at any time during the racing year, you must race in the Expert class.
  • If you are an Expert driver and any of your qualifying times are in the top ten of the Pro class, you must move into the Pro class for the event and any future events for the year.
  • If you have had a 100% chassis sponsorship in the race year and you drop down in your sponsorship for the race, you will be disqualified and banned from our events.

Pro Class Rules:

  • If you have a 100% chassis sponsorship, you must enter the Pro class.
  • If you have ever been a paid driver for a chassis manufacturer, you must enter the Pro class.
  • If you have EVER made the a-main at a TNR Challenge, or any major race event, you must enter the Pro class.
  • If you have ever won the 1/8 scale IFMAR Fuel World Championships or Nationals, you must enter the Pro class.

40+ Class Rules:

  • Anyone who is 40 years of age and older is eligible to enter any of the 40+ classes.
  • Former and current Pro drivers are eligible to run the 40+ Classes. However, if you qualify for the A-Main or bump to the A-Main (in the Pro Class), you will be ineligible to run the 40+ Class main event, and half of your entry will be refunded.

52+ Class Rules:

  • Anyone who is 52 years of age and older is eligible to enter any of the 52+ classes.
  • Former and current Pro drivers are eligible to run the 52+ Classes. However, if you qualify for the A-Main or bump to the A-Main (in the Pro Class), you will be ineligible to run the 52+ Class main event, and half of your entry will be refunded.

Classes Refund:

  •  There will be NO refunds for any classes unless:
  1. There was a death in the family.
  2. There was an accident involving the driver or an immediate family member.
  3.  If the driver missed his/her flight to the event.
  4.  Catastrophic natural event.
  • A written statement with proof must be provided.

Points Scale Payout for Pro-Drivers:

  • All drivers in all PRO Classes are eligible to enter.
  • Points are as follows: TQ=1 point, 1st Place=99 points, 2nd Place=98 points, 3rd Place=97 points.
  • In the event of a tie:

1.       The driver with the highest podiums will win the tiebreaker (1st, 2nd, 3rd).

2.       The driver with the best lap time will get the win for the tiebreaker.

  • If all criteria have been met, TNR Fuels has the final say on the tie-breaker decision.
  • Payout is based on the number of entries in the PRO classes.

Turn-Marshall:

  • TNR Fuels relies on drivers to volunteer when turn marshals are needed.
  • It is imperative that drivers go to their respective assigned locations to turn-marshal as soon as they finish their run.
  • Drivers who are up to turn marshals will be penalized if they are not in place, ready to turn marshals for the next race.
  • The program cannot be delayed because of a lack of turn marshals.

RV Parking:

  • All RV parking must be pre-reserved in advance through website registration.
  • There are only dry camping and electrical (20-amp/30-amp) camping.
  • There will be no change of parking spaces after registration is completed.
  • There will be no refund unless there is a well-established emergency and written proof is provided.

Dishonest Practices:

  • We have a strict policy against any form of cheating, including track cutting, hacking, pushing, or intentional car collisions. Such actions, as well as any form of dishonesty aimed at winning a race, will result in severe penalties, such as a DNF (Did Not Finish) for that round.
  • Drivers who attend multiple such practices will be banned from any future TNR Fuels events.

Fellowship:

  • At TNR Fuels, we take pride in our events that not only focus on RC racing but also foster a sense of fellowship. We aim to create a relaxing, friendly, and fun environment for everyone, making it a memorable experience for friends and family alike. We strive and pledge that our events bring people together through RC, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.
  • We encourage everyone to behave and treat fellow drivers and attendees with the same respect that we would like to be treated. This mutual respect is a cornerstone of our community, ensuring that everyone feels valued and respected.
  • TNR Fuels family, staff, assistants, volunteers, and everyone involved in the event are committed to ensuring the best weekend possible and committed to all racers' needs.
